CHA Layouts

Thank you so much for all the positive feedback and nice comments about the tags I made, in my last entry! The giveaway will be coming soon...I'll make a new post for it ;) As for the suggestions that I should make a shop and sell them, I'm flattered. I have no plans of selling them yet, but maybe I'll look into opening an etsy store in the summer? I'm not sure how it would work! But thanks for the idea :)

Since the Winter 2011 CHA just finished, I thought I should share my booth layouts. I had the wonderful opportunity to make some layouts for the Studio Calico booth at the CHA. When April asked me, I couldn't believe it! Studio Calico is of my favorite scrapbooking companies (and they make the coolest monthly kits, I might add!), so I was so incredibly excited for this.

I was assigned a 12x12" page with the Elementary line, and I came up with this. This page was actually a bit of a challenge - I haven't made a 12x12" layout in about 2.5 years, I think. I'm primarily an 8.5x11" scrapper now. But I had fun, and I'm happy with how this turned out! I love the versatility of the Elementary line; while it's a school-related line, it totally works for pretty much anything as well.

I absolutely love Studio Calico's mists and stamps! I layered a scalloped circle, a stamped doily image, a 1" circle, and my favorite phrase - the Go See Do stamped image from the jetsetter stamp set and I used foam adhesive for each layer for some added dimension. I cut out those tags at the top myself and misted them with  Sunshine and Schoolhouse Mister Huey. Love!

The subtle circles on the bottom of the page were misted with Lunch Tray Mister Huey. I use that color all the time. In fact, I think I should pick up a new bottle soon! As for the title, those are the wood veneer alphas, sprayed with Lunch Tray, Applejack, and Atmosphere Mister Huey. Love the colors :) The tissue paper ruffle at the bottom is actually a notion (SC's tissue paper flower) that I disassembled and folded. I didn't glue it down all the way so it would add a little bit of texture to the page :)

Next up is an 8.5x11" layout using Studio Calico's new State Fair collection. I thought of using this picture immediately when I saw the colors of the State Fair line. This is such a fun line, and I love the papers - my favorite is the ampersand paper; you can see part of it in one of the circles on the bottom left. I masked and misted different sized circles for the background, and filled in the circles with circles cut from the new patterned papers. For the 1" masked circles, I decided to stamp a cute little airplane from the Jetsetter set to make it a little more whimsical.

Here's a close-up of some of the new products. The fabrips (which I pleated here) are awesome, I love how they've been redesigned. I'm so in love with the new wood veneers too. This button is so cute; I misted it with Schoolhouse Mister Huey and it took the mist beautifully :)

I never shared this Elementary layout here, but I actually made it for the SC blog when KP did a spotlight on me. I had fun with the doilies stamps :) April asked for this layout as well, and it did end up being used at the SC booth during the CHA! Yay.

It was very cool and exciting seeing my stuff in pictures of the CHA :) This year's Winter CHA looked to be so much fun. There are a lot of great new products that I'm looking forward to...mainly Studio Calico, Crate, Cosmo Cricket, Hambly tapes, and Pink Paislee, among others!
