December Daily 2014 // Part III (+ New SC Subber Promo!)

Hello, December, even though almost half the month is gone. Today I'm sharing December 1-4 in my December Daily album! I'll be showing you how I used the super cute bear stamp from Waldorf on one of my DD pages here and there's also a new Studio Calico promo that may interest you at the bottom of this post.

DEC 1 | STORY: Advent calendar.
I purchased the David's Tea advent calendar and I was pretty excited since it's my first time having an advent calendar. In between this spread, I plan on including a 6x8 page protector that has the 2x2 pockets, which will hold daily photos of my cup of tea. The 2x2 pockets are perfect because front & back, the page protector holds 24 photos which is the number of teas in the calendar. Once my album's complete I'll show you!

Since this is the first day of December in my album, it was the perfect spot to include the calendar card from Kelly Purkey's kit. I also used a Studio Calico card (the bokeh one) and added a few confetti circles from Ali Edwards' DD kit for more pops of color. See? Totally love mixing bits and pieces of supplies from different places.

The right side was simple with a 6x8 photo of my advent calendar. I added a little tab from Noel Cut-Outs, a digital stamp (included in this set from SC), and handwritten word art from Paislee Press

DEC 2 | STORY: My niece's first Christmas.
I was inspired by Liz's photoshoot last year with her daughters, and I wanted to do something similar with my niece and nephew. I made reindeer antlers out of cardboard and felt for my niece (wasn't done my nephew's antlers headband at this point in time yet) and we had a mini photoshoot on our couch one afternoon. Super easy and I got some adorable photos. I decided to journal a bit about how this is her first Christmas in one of the pockets.

I printed out my favorite photo of my niece to fit the 6x8 page, and added a strip of washi tape to the side. The letter stickers are some old Basic Grey ones in my stash, and the little puffy star sticker and the chipboard pieces are pieces from past Studio Calico kits.

It was fun trying a new type of page protector for this side! (This one is from Simple Stories). I printed two instax photos of my niece using my Instax Share printer for the 3x4 pockets. The 2x2 pockets were fun to fill with little embellishments and stamps.
Some notable things - the 'M' is a letterpress card I made (more about letterpress here), and I handstitched the adorable bear stamp's scarf to add some texture - the bear is from the Studio Calico Waldorf add-on. One of my favorite stamps ever. Note: If you're loving this add-on, don't forget there's a new SC promo that may interest you at the bottom of this post! Scroll down ;)

DEC 2 | STORY: Holiday crafting with my nephew. (left side)
DEC 3 | STORY: Holiday decor at home. (right side)
I had a second story to include for December 2, so I added it to the back of the Simple Stories page protector. Nothing much happened on the 3rd, so I just snapped a photo with some holiday paper fans I hung up at home and altered a 6x8 page protector to hold a 4x8 photo (sewed the page protector and trimmed off the excess two inches).

I chose two photos for the 3x4 pockets again and added some patterned papers and embellishments in the 2x2 pockets. We made penguin ornaments from a craft kit, so I thought it would be super cute to stamp a penguin in one of the little pockets (stamp set is this one from Mama Elephant).

I found Oh Joy's holiday paper fans on sale at Target and bought them on a whim. I love how they look and I think they make our home look more festive! I kept this page super simple with a 4x8 photo and a few star sequins. On my photo, I added digital word art (my own handlettering) from Be Merry Photo Templates and some typed journaling.

I had also purchased Oh Joy's favor bags which had the same pattern as the fans. I cut up one of the paper bags to include behind my 4x8 photo. The length of the paper bag was the perfect size to fit the page protector and I love the gold foil on it.

I added a little Rifle Paper Co sticker & some holiday words cut from a patterned paper. Super simple filler page!

DEC 4 | STORY: Christmas card making. (right side)
My friend and I have annual tradition of spending a night or two in December creating Christmas cards.

I kept the page quite simple with a 4x6 photo and two of my journaling cards - from Noel Filler Cards no.1 and Noel Journaling Cards no.1.  The card were embellished with washi tape and a bit of stamping.

I added letter stickers above my filler card to change the sentiment to 'Spread Good Cheer' :) The 'love this tradition' stamp is from the Ali Edwards DD kit.

Now for the new Studio Calico subscription promo! If you've been wanting to start a subscription and have been eyeing one of the SC add-ons (I say get Waldorf. Right now. The bear needs to be in your life!), now is the chance to jump on it! Check out the Park Ave kits here.

All you need to do is start a new subscription with either the scrapbook kit, card kit, or Project Life kit, have the add-on you want in your shopping cart, and enter the promo code DEC14SUB to get your free add-on. It's a great time to start a new sub...perhaps as a Christmas gift to yourself? :) Enjoy!

Have a great weekend everyone!
