December Daily 2017 // Part II

Hello, hello! I'm playing catch up in my December Daily, and I have pages from December 1-3 to share today. I do have a few stories in November that I want to include, but I haven't quite decided which photos to use yet, so I decided to skip ahead to the 1st of December and finish those earlier pages later. No right or wrong with this project :)

DECEMBER 1 // Advent Calendars
We've got two advent calendars going on at home this year - the David's Tea tea calendar and the L'Occitane beauty calendar. I had the idea to photograph and print a full size picture of each calendar with a 3x8" insert in between. The insert is actually the pocket page that has four 3x4" slots; I simply cut off the 2nd row.

The transparency in the top pocket is an old one from my stash. I stapled an acetate label from the Paislee Press 2016 mini kit (digital version here) in the middle of the transparency and added some chipboard number stickers. The bottom pocket holds a printable card from Make Merry cards no.2 and I added a wood veneer star embellishment.

Here's the back side of this spread:

The 'JOY' badge is from the December Daily 2015 kit. I like the look of badges, but often find them too bulky for my albums. I decided to try flattening this one with a hammer, but it didn't work out so well and looked uneven and dented. I ended up carefully flattening it through my manual die cut machine (a Big Shot) and it turned out ok. Yay! I'll probably do this whenever I want to use a badge but reduce the bulk. I wrote my journaling on the green 'holiday details' card from the Make Merry cards no.3 set and covered the heart on the card with a gold star.

DECEMBER 2 // Holiday decor
Super simple page documenting the wooden trees I put on display at home. I scraplifted the half circle idea from Ali's Day 1 page but I opted for kraft cardstock to match the wooden stars on the trees.

DECEMBER 3 // Santa waffles
Adapted a pinterest idea (santa decorated pancakes!) for Sunday morning breakfast :) I kept this spread quite simple too with just the photos and journal cards from the Make Merry collection.

At the bottom of my 6x8 photo, I added a strip of washi tape from my stash.

I added a white wood veneer tree (from Ali's December Daily 2015 kit) to my journaling card (from Make Merry cards no.2 set). The little number 3 sticker is from the Paislee Press 2016 mini kit.

That's all for now :) Thanks for looking! xo.

  1. I am doing a digital DYD but I am IN LOVE with your hybrid one. I considered doing a hybrid book, but knew I couldn't commit to it this year. This makes me wish I was making one, though!

    1. Thanks so much! I hope you enjoy making your digital DD :)
