December Daily 2018 // Part I

Happy December everyone! I've been working on my December Daily album for the past week or so, and it's been so much fun getting back into it and continuing this memory keeping tradition. I've mentioned it before but I'm using a 6x8 format (with a red album purchased from Ali Edwards) and my supplies are a mix of new and old things from my stash. I'll point out some of the products as I share my pages, but feel free to ask questions in the comments as well.

Here's a look at my title page for this year. It's a combination of a transparency page and a simple, dated layout.

This transparency sheet is from a past Ali Edwards December Daily kit and the chipboard pieces I stuck on the cover are from Crate Paper's Merry Days collection. The gold foil is so beautiful.

Behind the transparency, I created a simple dated layout with some of my favourite supplies. The dark green patterned paper is one I designed for Feed Your Craft's Festive and Fun kit, the cork numbers are from Crate Paper, and I used some holiday washi tape that I love.

This year's intro pages are a combination of a patterned paper I designed in the Festive and Fun kit, as well as an envelope with my thoughts + journaling.

I love circles and decided to fill some of these ones with wood veneer, sequins, and chipboard pieces to add a bit of dimension to the page.

I've got a whole pack of these striped envelopes in my stash for years now and I love including them in my December Daily albums. I decided that 'Tis the Season would be a good phrase for a sort of 'introduction' to the album, and I stamped it with some old Studio Calico alpha stamps and Versafine black ink. There's a note inside the envelope.

November 23 // Holiday Shopping
I'm including a few pre-December pages in my album again, and this first one is about Black Friday and the start of holiday shopping. We were too busy shopping that day and I didn't get a lot of great photos, so I took a picture of one of the shopping bags in front of our tree the next day and I love how it turned out.

I tied a few Crate Paper ephemera pieces to a dark green tag, and instead of gluing it onto a card or paper, I decided to stick it on a star transparency. I like how you can peek through to the page behind it. The 'together' tag is from this die-cut set I designed for FYC.

November 28 // Holiday Tradition
This simple page on the left side documents our annual cardmaking tradition.

November 30 // Ice Skating
On the right side, I have another simple layout about going ice skating with my niece. The journaling card is from the Falala set no.3 and the Crate Paper Merry Days skating sticker I added to it perfectly matched my story.

On the back side of that transparency, I added another tag from the Festive and Fun die-cut pack. The journaling card beside it was from an old Paislee Press for December Daily mini-kit, maybe the 2015 edition. The little trees were super cute and I added a tag and wood veneer embellishment so I could write my journaling.

I found some pink patterned paper to match my niece's jacket, and I layered a snowflake (Martha Stewart punch) and a banner from the Falala elements no.1 set to create a filler card. I decided to handstitch the banner down on my card for a tiny bit of texture.

Thanks for looking! I'll be sharing more pages later this week. Happy Tuesday! xo.
