2021 Freebie + Shop News

Hey everyone! Hope you had a lovely holiday season and are enjoying the winter break. This Christmas season felt a little off, to put it lightly, and I admit there were days where it was difficult to find joy amidst it all. Somehow we've reached the end of 2020 and I'm looking forward to leaving behind this horrible, no-good year. I'm continuing the tradition of offering free new year cards and I've got a set of 2021 cards for you today, which you can download here.

I also wanted to share an update on In a Creative Bubble's digital shop. After December 31st, 2020, I will no longer take digital item orders from UK addresses due to the Brexit tax VAT system which goes into effect on January 1st, 2021. I am afraid I cannot comply to these changes with the limited resources I have. This was not a decision made lightly and I apologize to all UK customers for the short notice. I'm still trying to get more information from my website provider (Big Cartel) if they will act as the marketplace facilitator in this circumstance as they've done so with US state taxes, but I haven't heard back yet. Thus, to be on the safe side, I will not be taking UK orders in the new year. If there are any changes to this, I will keep you updated. Thank you for understanding.

I also wanted to give you a heads up that I'll be doing some site maintenance behind the scenes and the site will be down/offline starting January 1st (11:59PM EST). Hoping to get it back running soon.

Hi everyone! It's been one heck of a year, hasn't it? I can't believe we are nearing Christmastime already. I've also got a freebie for you. Many of us are going through a second wave of the pandemic right now and I know this virus is going to change how we celebrate the holidays this year. As we stay apart and at home to stay safe, I found the Judy Garland version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas so fitting for this Christmas (you can read the history of this song in this old article). I created this cut file insert/divider for my own December Daily album, and decided to share it here for those who may want to use it as well. It's sized at 5x8.25", which is the size of a traveler's notebook page outside of a TN page protector. I've left a margin on the left side for you to punch your own holes to fit this in your album.

I've provided a couple different versions of this cut file in this Box folder. For those who don't have a digital cutting machine, there's also an inverted black & white PNG so you can just print it out too. Enjoy!

Spring Sale, Freebie, & Update

Hi everyone! I've got a couple things to update you on. First off, it's time for the annual spring sale at In a Creative Bubble! To celebrate this new season, I've got a storewide sale running in my shop from now until Tuesday evening. Use the code SPRING2020 for 15% off your order.

Secondly, I have been following the news on the coronavirus outbreak since mid-January, and what a concerning and serious time we are currently living in. This week in particular has been quite overwhelming with global news updates and community-based advisories as the number of cases continues to grow locally and abroad. I've been getting some requests for cards to document these current events in your Project Life and have this free set of cards for you if you would like to use them.

Finally, the last bit of news I have for you is with regards to the shop. You may have noticed that there is now sales tax on US orders (if your state collects sales tax). Big Cartel (my shop platform) has implemented a Marketplace Facilitator tax update due to recent tax laws and will be calculating, collecting, and remitting sales tax directly to your state. This is a Big Cartel platform-wide change, not an individual shop one and unfortunately I don't have any control over it. I thought it would be best to give you a heads up on this change.

2020 Freebie

A belated Happy New Year to you all! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break and a great start to the new year. As for me, I got sick just a few days ago and it was definitely not an ideal way to begin the year. My weekend plans currently involve lots of tea and rest in an attempt to help with recovery. Wish me luck!

On the creative front, I'm excited to have finished my December Daily 2019 album. It's been awhile since I had time to scrapbook for myself and I was really motivated and inspired to work on this project throughout the month of December. I'm happy to say it's now done and sitting on my bookshelf. I've shared a few pages from my DD album on IG but am hoping to also post a round-up of my favorite spreads in a future blog post. As for my Project Life, my 2019 album has sadly been neglected (I think I got up to April-May last year) so that's the next project I want to tackle to figure out how I want to approach the remaining months.

In other news, I did want to share some recent In a Creative Bubble collaborations that have been released and/or are coming up:

1. Studio Calico's January High Five TN kit and Documenter kit are now available and I got to design the stamp sets that come with these kits. I also designed the chipboard and a few of the journaling cards in the Documenter kit :) Love this month's bright colors and will be putting these kits to good use in my Project Life album.
2. Pinkfresh Studio has revealed their latest scrapbook collections and I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to work with them on the spring-themed Noteworthy collection and teenager-oriented Super Cool collection. Be sure to check out the linked blog posts for the full reveal. I cannot wait to see these collections in person!
3. The newest kit I designed for Feed Your Craft comes out soon on January 15 at 8AM EST, and if you are a book lover, it's definitely not one to be missed. You can see a peek of it in Elise's blog post. I'm so excited we got to include more custom embellishments with this kit and the designs are definitely a personal favorite of mine! 

As for In a Creative Bubble shop, I hope to have a shop update coming for you all by the end of this month. For now, I wanted to share this set of free 2020 journaling cards for you to use in your albums :)

2019 Freebie

Hey everyone! I hope your new year is off to a good start. Mine has been quite a busy one and now I'm battling a cold and trying to get better before the weekend comes around.

On the scrapbooking/creative front, there's something about the new year that has motivated me and made me quite productive. I completed my December Daily 2018 a few weeks ago, yay! I think that's the earliest I've ever finished my DD album (though there's still some work to be done for 2017's...). I also made time to play in my passport sized traveler's notebook documenting my past trips to Japan, one of my favorite personal projects. Now I'm trying to catch up with Project Life and finish the last quarter of 2018, as well as decide on 2019's album. I think I'll be sticking to 12x12 with a mix of inserts when needed. That's the plan so far, but I haven't started it yet.

As for the In a Creative Bubble shop, it has been on a bit of a hiatus since the holidays but I'm hoping to get back on track with regular updates and the newest release will be coming the end of the month (Thursday, January 31st). For now, I have a 2019 freebie set of cards for you to use in your album!

Freebie // Spark of Madness

Like the rest of the world, I'm greatly saddened by Robin Williams' sudden passing. This celebrity death has affected me more than some others for a few reasons, but mainly because as a child of the 90s, I grew up watching so many of his films. Aladdin, Hook, Dead Poets Society, Jumanji (which honestly, scared me a little as a kid)...I still have Mrs. Doubtfire on laserdisc. He brought so much laughter to our household. He was a wonderful actor and comedian, and he will be so terribly missed.

I knew I wanted to pay tribute to Robin Williams in some way in my Project Life, so as I was practicing brush script yesterday, I wrote out one of my favorite quotes from him so I could include it in my album. Since I am sure many are looking to do the same in their own PLs, I decided to scan the quote and offer it as a free 3x4 printable here on my blog. I've included both a white-on-black and a black-on-white version for you to choose from. Hopefully this can be a small and simple way for each of us to remember and pay tribute to such a talented man as we flip through our albums.
