A little update

Happy new year, everyone! I know we're all wishing and hoping for a better year than the last. (Can we just count last week as part of 2020?) It's been a rough transition into the new year for me personally, and I'm definitely hoping the days ahead are brighter. I figured it was time for a little update so here we go:

In a Creative Bubble // Shop News

Thank you for your patience as I worked on some shop maintenance behind-the-scenes at In a Creative Bubble! The site is now live again and those of you waiting to make orders can head to the site.

I am so grateful that the creative community's continued, enthusiastic support has allowed this little digital store to flourish over the years. Seeing my designs being put to use on your memory keeping projects always puts a smile on my face and I'm thankful that you've found these products helpful for documenting your stories.

With growth does come some changes, and in 2021, I will be charging GST/HST on Canadian orders. I was hoping to be able to implement this while doing the site maintenance, but it appears that Big Cartel (my e-commerce platform) has a very simplified set up/website back end and is not the best platform for setting up these rates. As a result, I've temporarily disabled/suspended Canadian orders as I work on exploring options and possible solutions for charging GST/HST on Canadian orders. To my Canadian customers, I apologize for the inconvenience and I appreciate your continued patience as I figure out a solution!

As for an update on UK/Brexit VAT, Big Cartel has gotten back to me with the following: "We don't have specific details to share on how Big Cartel will be handling this at this time - our legal team is looking into whether OMP (online marketplace provider) status applies to us based on the guidelines set forth. We will keep you posted as we get updates on this." Unfortunately, this means that I will have to continue the policy of no longer allowing orders to UK addresses. I'm sorry and wish I had better news to share.

In a Creative Bubble // Elsewhere

It's been awhile since I've updated you on the recent collaborations I've had the pleasure of working on. As much as I love the convenience of digital products, it is always so awesome to have tangible products to use too, especially since I'm a hybrid scrapbooker (combining my love of digital + physical supplies!). I'm delighted to share these projects:

Pinkfresh Studio recently shared their latest scrapbook collection releases and I had the wonderful opportunity to work on Keeping it Real with fellow designers Inna Moreva and Kaitlin Sheaffer. This new scrapbook collection is a mix of beautiful florals and bold, modern designs, designed to help you tell your imperfect, everyday stories. According to Pinkfresh Studio, the estimated ship date to retailers for this collection is mid-February.

Studio Calico's January kits are now live and I got to design some of the kit components in the January documenter kit and traveler's notebook kit. I love how bright and fresh these kits are and you can find some of my designs in the cards, chipboard pieces, and both kits' stamp sets. I'm also designing the 2021 3x4 monthly stamp series for Studio Calico, and they have a handy designer filter here where you can shop all the IACB for SC stamp sets.

Feed Your Craft's next shop update is coming this Friday on January 15th at 10AM EST and I designed the latest kit called Happy at Home. It's perfect for this season of hibernation as many of us are spending lots of time at home right now. I'm still waiting for my kit to arrive (those darn shipping delays!) but I'm excited to see all the sneaks of the creative team working their magic with the kit and add-ons :)

Memory Keeping Plans 2021

The 2020 pandemic year wasn't good for me creatively as many of my creative projects took a back seat; I lost a lot of motivation to create as I grappled with anxiety, loss, grief, and other personal circumstances. Thankfully, working on my December Daily album last month was a good way to jumpstart that creativity again and I really enjoyed putting together my album. I also purchased an Epson PM-400 photo printer to hopefully help me scrapbook more regularly! Photo printing is one of my biggest setbacks and normally, I would batch print photos at my local Costco. Unfortunately, local Costcos closed down their photo centres last summer and while I can still send my pictures to print online, shipping would take 10-15 business days (according to their site). So far, I'm loving the print quality of this little Epson PM-400 printer and I think it's going to be really convenient to print pictures on demand.

There are no ground-breaking plans for my memory keeping this year, but I hope to get back on track and find more time to create. I want to continue with Project Life and along with all the missing gaps/old spreads I want to make for both my 2017 and 2020 albums, I'm thinking of going with a 9x12 format for 2021 (haven't made any final decisions yet!). I also have lots of travel mini-books I still want to tackle, and I'm crossing my fingers I will find time and stay motivated to work on them as it seems like a lot of this year will still be spent at home.

If you've made it this far, thank you. I hope you are well and safe and this year brings hope and joy in the days ahead. xo.

2021 Freebie + Shop News

Hey everyone! Hope you had a lovely holiday season and are enjoying the winter break. This Christmas season felt a little off, to put it lightly, and I admit there were days where it was difficult to find joy amidst it all. Somehow we've reached the end of 2020 and I'm looking forward to leaving behind this horrible, no-good year. I'm continuing the tradition of offering free new year cards and I've got a set of 2021 cards for you today, which you can download here.

I also wanted to share an update on In a Creative Bubble's digital shop. After December 31st, 2020, I will no longer take digital item orders from UK addresses due to the Brexit tax VAT system which goes into effect on January 1st, 2021. I am afraid I cannot comply to these changes with the limited resources I have. This was not a decision made lightly and I apologize to all UK customers for the short notice. I'm still trying to get more information from my website provider (Big Cartel) if they will act as the marketplace facilitator in this circumstance as they've done so with US state taxes, but I haven't heard back yet. Thus, to be on the safe side, I will not be taking UK orders in the new year. If there are any changes to this, I will keep you updated. Thank you for understanding.

I also wanted to give you a heads up that I'll be doing some site maintenance behind the scenes and the site will be down/offline starting January 1st (11:59PM EST). Hoping to get it back running soon.

Thank you for sticking around and I hope you have a cozy and safe new year! xo.

Black Friday Sale + Freebie

Hi everyone! It's been one heck of a year, hasn't it? I can't believe we are nearing Christmastime already. I'm back today to share the final sale of the year - a four day storewide sale at In a Creative Bubble! Use the code HOLIDAY2020 at checkout for 10% off your order of $10 or more. This sale is on from now until Monday, November 30 at 11:59PM PST.

I've also got a freebie for you. Many of us are going through a second wave of the pandemic right now and I know this virus is going to change how we celebrate the holidays this year. As we stay apart and at home to stay safe, I found the Judy Garland version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas so fitting for this Christmas (you can read the history of this song in this old article). I created this cut file insert/divider for my own December Daily album, and decided to share it here for those who may want to use it as well. It's sized at 5x8.25", which is the size of a traveler's notebook page outside of a TN page protector. I've left a margin on the left side for you to punch your own holes to fit this in your album.

I've provided a couple different versions of this cut file in this Box folder. For those who don't have a digital cutting machine, there's also an inverted black & white PNG so you can just print it out too. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for your continued support, encouragement, and enthusiasm for IACB. I'm so grateful for this community and it means the world to me that you like and use my designs when documenting your memories. I hope you have a great weekend and a safe and cozy holiday season! xo.

Shop Update // Holiday Release

Hey everyone! Today's update is all about the holidays, and it's crazy to think that there's apparently only 64 days until Christmas. Christmas time is normally my favorite time of the year, but I'll be honest in saying that it was initially difficult to get into the holiday spirit this year when working on this collection because of the uncertainty of what a pandemic Christmas will hold. I know this season will look very different this year, but I'm holding onto the hope that it's still going to be possible to create magic and find joy in the little moments.

Let's jump right into it. This year's digital collection is called Holiday Magic and it's filled with bright colors and cheerful designs scattered throughout the journaling card sets, printable elements, and digital stamp brushes. These products are available individually, or if you're interested in the whole thing there is a collection bundle that is discounted and includes an exclusive page of printable cards and elements.

I've also got some additional holiday products this year - the usual black & white journaling card set, one for a Covid Christmas + coordinating digital stamps, a set of cards for warm-weather holidays + digital stamps, as well as new products in the popular 3x8 and traveler's notebook sizes!

Let's take a closer look at this year's entire holiday release, starting with the Holiday Magic collection:

You'll notice that this year's color scheme focuses on red and greens, with pops of mint/turquoise, mustard yellow, pink, and blue :)
One of my initial ideas for this year's release was the concept of windows, and how so much of our time has been spent at home this year. The window card here has the perspective of being inside and looking out at the world, and in the usual IACB fashion, I've included extras of this card so that the girl can be represented in different skin tones/hair colors.
The holiday items filler card may be my favorite thing of this whole release :) I'm really happy with how it turned out, and it adds a bit of playful whimsy to this set.
You may have noticed I've mixed up these element sets a little bit by including more die-cut style pieces instead of the usual basic shapes (in the form of labels/tabs/tags). It was fun to switch things up and hopefully there's enough variety in the set to make everyone who likes both element styles happy!
Yay, the yeti is back! You'll find him in the Covid Christmas journaling card set (more on that later), and the Santa is from the Warm Wishes journaling card set (also one of the additional card sets to this year's release), but to make these elements more versatile, I've included their little "accessories" separately - aka the mask for the yeti and the sunglasses for the Santa. So these pieces can be used together or apart. I also have some extra Santa elements included in this set in various skintones :)

All together, the Holiday Magic collection includes three journaling card sets, two sets of elements, and two sets of digital stamp brushes. You can definitely pick and choose which sets you're interested in, but as I mentioned earlier, there's also a complete bundle available with a small discount and an extra set of coordinating cards + fun elements pictured here :)

I've also got a bunch of additional holiday products in the shop. Here's a look at them:

I'm no good at coming up with new names for these b&w holiday sets, so I've stuck with December Days and will be numbering them accordingly going forward :) This set of 3x4 cards has a mix of filler cards and journaling cards with plenty of room for jotting down your stories. Some of these would look so awesome minc-ed with foil as well!

Ahh, covid. The pandemic and its effects on our holiday season have been weighing heavily on my mind for a long while now, so I came up with this set of journaling cards to address the realities of this season and how things will look differently this year. And like I mentioned, the yeti is back, all masked up to remind us that it's important to stay safe while we're celebrating the holidays!
This set of cheery and bright journaling cards is for all my friends who live in places that experience warm weather during the holidays. It was also a good excuse to draw a cute snowman ice cream :) I wanted to keep this set versatile so there a few references to sunshine/warm weather, but lots of other more generic cards to document the holidays.
I'm bringing back 3x8 designs to my shop with this holiday release, and I love including this size in my own album as extra inserts! I had mentioned the windows idea earlier, and you'll see a different perspective highlighted here. I designed a sort of apartment windows card, with the perspective of being outside and seeing glimpses of how people are celebrating the holidays in their own homes. This was definitely one of the more time consuming designs to make, and you'll find the apartment windows in this 3x8 set as well as the TN paper set.
A new set of holiday templates for including more pictures in your albums :) Lots of fun type and simple designs that I hope you'll enjoy!

Still loving the TN size, and I'm happy to create another holiday themed set to add to the shop!

Finally, I've also got a TN sized set of templates for all the extra photos you want to include in your albums :)

And that's a wrap for this year's holiday release! I think this may be the largest release yet...with sixteen new products and one collection bundle. Working on these designs was definitely a labour of love and lots of late nights fiddling on Illustrator, but I'm happy with the final products and I hope you like them too :)

As always, thank you so much for your support and enthusiasm for my designs. Your kind comments truly mean the world to me and are so encouraging and supportive! I love seeing how you all use these digitals on your own projects, and it never fails to amaze me how creative you get. Please continue tagging me on instagram :)

I've printed out a good chunk of this year's printables already, and I'm looking forward to getting prepped for December Daily this year. I'm hoping to have a blog post on last year's album sometime in November as well.

If you got this far in this post, thank you. I hope you all have a great weekend! xo.

Shop Update

Happy autumn, everyone! I can't believe it's already nearing the end of September, though I've basically had no concept of time this year and am still confusing the days (anyone else?). Anyway, today's In a Creative Bubble shop update is a fairly big with both seasonal and everyday items - there are twelve new products in total. Click here for everything that's new in the shop, or stick around as always for a look on the new sets.

Let's start off with the seasonal goodies! I've got a bunch of new fall printable sets and coordinating digital stamps, and the bold autumnal colors make me so darn happy.

Next up are some new Halloween themed printables + coordinating digital stamps. I don't do a Halloween release every year as honestly it's not my favorite holiday, but I always get requests for them so I had fun coming up with some new designs this time around. The masked up pumpkin is a nod to this year's reality, and I hope people can still find ways to celebrate the holiday safely, even if trick or treating may not be possible.

I wanted to make sure there are also everyday options/products in this release for people who aren't interested in seasonal designs. So this release also includes a new addition to the ongoing Recorded series, as well as card sets + coordinating digital stamps to document all the media you're consuming, whether that be books/TV/music/podcasts etc.

I've done lots of reading/book themed designs before, so I tried to do a more modern take this time with prompts referring to virtual libraries, print/digital subscriptions, e-books etc. The bibliophile girl card also comes in several variations with different skintones and hair colors.

The Now Streaming cards are the perfect ones to use for documenting the media you're watching/listening to. Like the On the Shelf cards, this is my attempt at a more modern take on the topic, with wifi icons and the black & white graphic card (which has the perfect spot for you to add a 2.5" photo of the TV show/album/podcast you're enjoying!) instead of retro TVs.
And that's it for this month's shop update. As always, thank you for stopping by and for your continued support! Have a great week, everyone. xo.

Shop Update

Hi everyone! It's been a while, hasn't it? Hope you're all well. I'm mainly on Instagram these days, sharing bits and pieces of memory keeping, designing, and everyday life.

Though I took a little break from In a Creative Bubble after May's release, I've had other fun collaborations pop up over the last few months. You can find me:
So hopefully the lack of IACB digitals/printable releases wasn't too missed! I'm getting back to the swing of things though and am squeezing a new bright and colorful shop update before summer comes to an end. Here's a look at what's new this month:

I had a lot of fun coming up with a cheerful set of cards for documenting summertime. The fruity label card is my personal favorite, though the 'summertime' one is a close second!

Staycation Journaling Cards
Since we aren't travelling much these days, I thought it would be nice to have some staycation themed cards added to to this release. Whether you're taking a break and relaxing at home or (safely) exploring your city and nearby destinations, these cards will be easy to use for documenting your stories and local adventures.

Another addition to this release is a new set of road trip cards! I decided to keep these black and white for ultimate versatility, and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Do you (or did you) have any road trips planned?

Printable elements continue to be a popular request, so I'm trying to add new ones to the shop whenever I can. They're a bit more time consuming to design but I love them a lot! I tried to switch things up this time around and have more shapes/designs instead of the usual 2" circles + squares. These elements highlight some fun, summer activities, but you can definitely use them for regular everyday documenting (decided not to use the word 'summer' in any of these elements!). The floral and fruity cone is my personal favorite :)

The Basics no.1 TN papers have been such a hit and I plan on continuing the series by releasing more black & white traveler's notebook paper designs, similar to my ongoing Recorded journaling card series. Set no.2 here has lots of simple designs and quick prompts, making them easy to fill in and use with photos and journaling.

Lastly, I've got another new set of traveler's notebook papers! The TN trend has been so inspiring and a lot of fun, and I've especially enjoyed using this size as inserts in my mini albums. I loved making this new TN set as colorful and bright as possible, reflecting the happiness I feel during summer :)

And that's all, folks. Thank you so much for sticking around :) Hope you like the newest release and please tag me @inacreativebubble on Instagram if you're using them in your projects! I'm constantly amazed and inspired by the creative ways you all use my designs, and I'm humbled by your support and continued enthusiasm for my work. Hope you all take care and have a great rest of the week! xo.

Shop Update

Hey everyone! Hope you're continuing to stay safe and well in these uncertain times. It's crazy to think that we're already nearing mid-May and we've been in lockdown for two months now. The days continue to be full of ups and downs but we're managing to get by despite various stresses and worries. There's been talk in the city of slowly easing restrictions these coming weeks and months, and hopefully things look up soon.

Clearly the pandemic season has continued to be on my mind these days and as there have been several requests for products to document our current times, this release focuses on just that. Today's small shop update at In a Creative Bubble is all about quarantine life and how we're spending our time at home these days, and I hope you find these products useful for your own journals. Let's take a look at what's new:

New Normal Journaling Cards
The first theme I wanted to focus on for this release was 'the new normal' and how we're all trying to stay sane and keep going in these weird times. "Feeling all the feels and confusing all the days" basically sums up my quarantine life!

New Normal Digital Stamps

New Normal Elements

Stay Home Journaling Cards
The second theme I wanted to focus on is 'staying home'. I released the At Home journaling cards last month, but as I mentioned, I had lots of ideas on this theme and decided to expand on it again with some specific prompts on how we're spending our days at home, whether that be making stuff, reading, spending more time in the kitchen (100% me right now), binge watching shows, etc. I think these cards can definitely be useful for everyday life documenting as well, outside of this current season.

Stay Home Digital Stamps

Stay Home Elements

Quarantine Life Traveler's Notebook Papers
This release was originally going to be just the 3x4 journal card sets (and coordinating digital stamps & elements), but I had a lot of feedback over the weekend that people would appreciate Traveler's Notebook sized versions of the journaling cards as well. So this TN paper pack is a last minute addition to the shop and is a compilation of select designs from the New Normal journaling cards and the Stay Home journaling cards, redesigned to fit the TN size.

Since I wanted to keep these TN papers black and white so they would be more versatile, that meant I had to choose which designs would work best in this limited color scheme and format...I ended up choosing nine cards from the New Normal set and eleven cards from the Stay Home set. Due to the uneven numbers, I combined the designs from both sets for this ultimate pack of TN papers to help document life in quarantine. Hope you like them!

And that's a wrap for today's release. Hope you all continue to take care and thank you for stopping by and continuing to support In a Creative Bubble! xo.
